Prime It

- Brush, roll or spray on 2 coats of
- Make final strokes long in the direction you want the grain
Grain It
With
If you want a smooth finish, you can skip this step. Your brush strokes will make a subtle grain.
- Brush on a thin coat of Wood'n Stain™ in plank size sections
- Pull the graining tool through each section while coat is still wet
- Brush on 0 to 3 coats of as desired
- Make final strokes long in the direction you want the grain Reminder: Do not wipe back the stain like other stains
- Clean your brush while you give the project 2 hours to dry completely.

If you are limited on time, then use a blow dryer.
(Dry time may take as little as 5 minutes with the use of a blow dryer on high heat)
Apply Gel Stain Alternative
Wipe on 0 to 3 coats of Gel Stain Alternative
Make your final swipes long in the direction you want the grain. Use a lint free cloth, staining sponge, old sock or
t-shirt to apply the stain.
Allow 2 hours to dry. You can use a blow dryer to speed up dry time to a little as 5 minutes.
Each coat of will give you a deeper finish.

If you ordered a kit that does not include the top coat, then you must make sure the topcoat you use is appropriate
for the project. (Interior, exterior, high traffic, etc.)
- Stir, do not shake, container of top coat
- Apply thin layers of the top coat until you finish the entire container
- Allow two hours of drytime between coats Retique It will only support the use of our brand of topcoats
Dark Wood has deep warm undertones giving less contrast when used with darker stains.
- Commonly used for the graining coat over light wood
- Light Wood is usually a better choice for dark stains.
- Dark wood is the best choice for a dark cherry stain
- Use dark wood with dark stains if you don't want as much variation/depth between the stain and the wood.
